The “IPM Novelties Showcase” competition, initiated by the Central Horticultural Association (ZVG), is taking place for the 17th time. All plant exhibitors at IPM Essen have the opportunity to present their innovations in Hall 4 (Horticulture Information Center). In terms of the exhibition regulations, “innovations” refer, among other things, to new breeds and new, previously unidentified wild and growth forms that have not been exhibited at any other German trade fair. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: bedding and balcony plants, spring, bedding and balcony plants summer, flowering houseplants, green houseplants, woody plants, container plants, perennials, cut flowers. The winners will be announced on the opening day of IPM.*
Once again this year, the “IPM Innovations” impressed visitors with the high level of innovation demonstrated by the participants. A total of 42 innovations from 27 exhibitors competed for the “IPM Innovation 2026” award. After evaluation by the expert commission, the following new varieties were awarded prizes in six categories, and one new variety received the jury’s special prize.
